Android 7.0 came out late last here, and phone producers have been rolling out updates for their recently released phones. Infinix, as a giant phone in Nigeria (has a lot of users in Lagos) is visibly following suit.

FEATURES OF ANDROID 7.0 NOUGAT
Check the official general features for all Android 7.0 nougat devices by clicking here. Google Pixel devices were the first to run on 7.0. ( click here to update your Infinix hot 4 pro to Android 7.0 nougat)
And for everyone looking for just one more way to make life easier, Android 7.1.1 brings you app shortcuts directly from your home screen. This is a feature I really enjoy and look forward to see. You can Launch actions on your favorite apps, such as Twitter or Google Maps, by simply long pressing the app icon. Jump directly into an existing conversation on Google Messenger or start an entirely new one – all straight from the app icon.
The update would be available for the following Infinix Android phones:
- Infinix Note 3
- Infinix Zero 4
- Infinix Zero 4 Plus
- Infinix Hot S2
- Infinix Hot 4 Pro
- Infinix Hot 4
- Infinix Hot 4 Lite
- And probably the android one phone, Infinix Hot 2
For now, I have tested and tastes a beta version of the Android 7.0 for the Infinix Hot 4 Pro. Here are screenshots below:
Review of Hot 4 Pro Android 7.0:
1. Notification Bar:
I noticed a sleeky notification bar with the system tuner option attached to the gear at the top right. The notification bar is more beautiful, compared to the earlier android versions.
The settings is divided into sections, such as:
- Wireless and networks
Makes sense! The system Tuner is back to the settings. The OK google settings is on the settings app now.
3. About Phone:
This shows us that the update runs on the latest android security patch level, and other useful stuffs about the phone.
I also saw a screenshot of the Infinix Note 3 android 7.0 interface from InfinixMobility and here is it:
For now, the Infinix Hot S2, Note 2, and Zero4 variants have the update, and they promise to release official uodates for the Hot 4 variants soon. An update for the Hot 2 is also long overdue, because I get a lot of complaints over the marshmallow update on Infinix Hot 2.
Cool Features of Android 7.0 Nougat
1. Fast app switching
You’ve done it severally: Using one app, like Whatsapp, when you want to pop over to another (maybe facebook) to do something real quick. Then it’s back to Whatsapp messenger.
Going to another app and back again is so common, Google has made it easier in the Android 7.0 Nougat. If you double-tap the recents button, it will skip showing you the recent apps and just instantly pop you over to the last app you had open. Double-tap it again, and you pop back. Once you get used to it, it’s a real time saver and its sweet-actually.
2. Be on two apps at same time
Samsung users have long had access to using apps in a split-screen mode. With Android 7.0 Nougat, Google is officially and finally adding support for multi-window support to all Android devices running Android 7.0. To activate multi-window mode, long-press on the recent apps button. Whichever app you’re currently using will go to the top of the screen (on a phone, or to the left on a tablet), with a list of recent apps shown along the bottom. Select the second app you want to use from the list. Drag the divider to resize the app windows, or to maximize either of the active apps. So you can be on fb and whatsapp simultaneously.
3. View two Chrome tabs
Talking about my best browser, Its Google Chrome. I use it for many of my blogging stuff, including his post. It took Apple a year to introduce split-screen tab viewing in Safari for iPad users, but Google did it at the same time it introduced multi-window to Android. When using Chrome in the multi-window mode, tap on the Menu button and select they super handy option of “Move to other window.” It’s as easy as that!
4. Drag and drop text, images when in multi-window mode
